Puppy Information

wilmapups.jpeg

All of our litters are born and raised indoors. Our puppies receive lots of human interaction starting from birth, and are exposed to a variety of household noises such as TV, human voices, washing machine and dryer, vacuum, power tools, and typical daily activities. Puppies are handled multiple times a day. As they grow, they are introduced to grooming (bathing, blow dryer, nails being trimmed, and getting used to the grooming table). This helps ensure our puppies get a good start on socialization.

All of our puppies are up to date on vaccinations and receive a veterinary examination prior to leaving for their new homes.

All puppies are sent home with AKC registration papers and a copy of health records.

Frequently Asked Question

How do I inquire about a puppy or dog?

To inquire about one of Border Collies, please fill out the inquiry form on our Contact page. We strive to match our puppies with homes that are best suited for them. When inquiring, please include:

- If you're interested in a particular puppy

- Details about your home and family

- If you're looking for a male or female, or open to either sex

- What your plans are for a Border Collie (companion, show, sports, etc..)

- If you're wanting a particular coat length or color

- Describe what kind of personality traits you're looking for

How much do puppies cost?

Puppy prices typically range from $2000 to $4000.

Do you require a deposit?

To reserve a puppy or a spot on our waiting list, a $500 deposit is required.

Deposits may be placed on a specific puppy; however, because our priority is matching each puppy with the home best suited to their temperament, final placement decisions are made at approximately 8 weeks of age. This is when we complete temperament assessments and structural evaluations.

If the puppy you initially placed a deposit on does not turn out to be the best match for your goals or lifestyle (for example, the puppy develops higher energy or drive than you are looking for), your deposit may be transferred to another puppy or litter.

In the event that a puppy shows exceptional promise at the 8-week evaluations and we decide to keep him/her for our show and breeding program, your deposit may either be transferred to another puppy or litter, or refunded.

How do I send a deposit?

Deposits may be sent via PayPal or Venmo. If sending through PayPal, make sure to choose the Friends & Family option.

Will my puppy be up to date on shots and deworming?

Yes. Our puppies receive Neopar at 4 and 6 weeks, and DHPP at 8 weeks. Puppies are dewormed regularly and started on a topical flea and heartworm preventative at 7 weeks. Each puppy has a medical record that they are sent home with. Medical record will include all vaccinations and dewormings the puppy has received.

Can I come pick out my puppy?

For the safety of our dogs and to minimize the risk of bringing illness onto our property, we do not allow in-person visitors at this time.
We are more than happy to provide photos, videos, and video calls with potential buyers so you can watch your puppy grow and get to know them.

When can my puppy come home?

Puppies can go to their new homes after they are 8 weeks old and have had their vet examination.

How do I get my puppy?

The most exciting part! We love meeting our puppy buyers in person when our puppies head off to their new homes.

In person pick up options

If you are located in Oklahoma or choose to travel here, our typical meeting locations include:

  • Thunderbird Casino in Norman, Oklahoma.

  • Will Rogers World Airport (Oklahoma City) if you fly in and take your puppy home as a carry-on.

We can also meet in towns 2-3 hours from Noble, Oklahoma for a $200 delivery fee.

Ground Transport: You may choose to have your puppy transported to you via professional ground transportation services.
Buyers are welcome to select their own transporter, or we can provide recommendations from transporters we have previously used. Ground transport runs $300-$1500 depending on destination.

Air shipping:

Puppies may be shipped via airline cargo from Will Rogers World Airport (Oklahoma City).

Air cargo shipping generally ranges from $500–$1,500, depending on airline, destination, and time of year.
This estimate reflects airline cargo fees only and does not include veterinary health certificates, crates, or ground transportation.

What kind of food will my puppy be eating?

Our puppies are weaned onto Diamond or Purina puppy food. We recommend these brands and suggest purchasing a bag before bringing your puppy home (we will let you know exactly which product your puppy was weaned onto). Buyers of course are welcome to switch their puppy to whatever brand they prefer. We suggest purchasing the same product the puppy has been weaned onto for a gradual transition should you decide to feed a different product.

What kind of temperament do your dogs have?

Most of our dogs come from AKC conformation show bloodlines. Show-bred Border Collies tend to be calmer and less physically demanding than working-bred Border Collies.

While Border Collies are an active and intelligent breed, we find that well-bred show lines are easy to live with and have a natural “off switch,” making them excellent companions for active families.

That said, temperament can vary from litter to litter, and each puppy has their own individual personality. We evaluate puppies as they mature and do our best to match each puppy with prospective homes based on temperament, energy level, and lifestyle.

What kind of homes do accept inquiries from?

We welcome inquiries from thoughtful, well-prepared homes that understand the needs of an intelligent, active breed and are committed to providing lifelong care.

Our puppies are best suited for homes that value:

  • Daily mental and physical enrichment

  • Positive training and socialization

  • A stable home environment

  • Responsible ownership and long-term commitment

We are happy to work with a wide variety of households, including active families, performance or show homes, and dedicated companion homes. We place an emphasis on matching each puppy’s temperament and energy level to the lifestyle of the home.

Because our priority is the well-being of our puppies, we reserve the right to decline inquiries that do not appear to be a good fit.
